Photographs

Photography plays an essential role in our work. It is at once a tool for documentation, a means of transmission, and a source of inspiration.

Characteristics of our photographs

Our images stand out through several artistic and technical choices.

Format 1:1 or square. This framing highlights composition and strengthens visual balance.

Documentary photography of miniature objects. We capture very small, often handmade pieces in an explanatory or comparative approach.

These images reveal details that would otherwise remain invisible or little known.

Black and white photography. By removing colour, we focus solely on shades of grey, light, and contrast.

This enhances forms, materials, and textures, while also revealing imperfections such as small cavities.

Macro and close-up photography. We prefer to speak of “miniature photography”.

In fact, the technical definition of macro photography depends on the size of the camera sensor, which can vary considerably.

To avoid confusion, we use this term for all our images that highlight the infinitely small.

Two photographic worlds

Our photographs fall into two main categories.

Workshop photographs. Often in black and white, they reveal the other side of the creative process.

They show gestures, tools, materials, failures as well as successes.

Photographs outside the workshop.

Flowers, nature, landscapes, everyday objects…

These images capture moments of inspiration that nourish our creativity and enrich our practice.

Light and approach

We work with both natural and artificial light.

Natural light is preferred for outdoor shots.

Artificial light, such as a torch or flash, is used for indoor photography, and sometimes outdoors when technical needs require it.

These choices allow us to highlight the infinitely small, to reveal material in its finest details, and to share with you a unique perspective on our creations and sources of inspiration.
