Trees

Trees offer a still presence that is nevertheless constantly changing.

Their appearance varies with the seasons, from the soft young leaves of spring to the warm colours of autumn. Some are covered with delicate flowers, while others bear fruits that appear discreetly before becoming visible and recognisable.

Each period of the year reveals a different facet of their character.

I do not photograph trees as often as other subjects, but they always draw my attention through their textures, their shapes, and the way they occupy space.

Their natural evolution, slow and regular, contrasts with my more spontaneous practice of proxi and macro photography, which focuses on close details.

When I take the time to observe them, I try to capture what makes them unique at that precise moment, whether it is the light in the foliage, a marked bark, or the appearance of buds, flowers, or fruits.

Each tree tells a story that is constantly changing.

The apricot tree

These photographs were taken in March 2025, at the very beginning of spring, as the tree was starting to wake up after winter.

What makes this tree particularly interesting is the presence of old apricot stones from the previous year.

They remained attached to the branches and survived the winter, acting as small witnesses to past production.
